Now the wind has blown over the trash cans and they're in the street, causing a traffic hazard. They still contain some random garbage inside which will probably make its way out into the neighborhood.

Then, BOOKMARK it so you can locate it when you need it. It's almost impossible to find on the city's website.

Concerned with stray cats in your yard (Athens does not currently have a cat shelter)  Here are some cat repellent and cat deterrent tips for keeping cats out of your yard: 

1/13/09   Tuesday.  By 5:30pm, the cans and the recycling bin have been put inside their new corral at the side of 34 First St. 

Excellent.

This plastic bag seems comfortable here. Despite some wind and snow, it's remained here several days. It may be frozen to the ground. Or, any frozen moisture may have made it too heavy to blow away at the moment.

Monday is garbage day.
So these empty cans are now illegal.
How much longer will they stay in the middle of the sidewalk?  Why have these tenants at 34 First not learned to put them away on garbage day?
